This is my personal blog. I have been in the ministry for 30 years (ever since I was 18)! Working with people and through difficult situations have been much of my experience. The views I hold do not necessarily represent the ministry I lead, but come through experience, hard work, and doing it wrong plenty of times.
The topics I write about are things like: leadership, organizational skills, personal development, personal assessment, and relationships. These posts will give very practical, down-to-earth experience and information that you can use as soon as you read them.
Through the years I have mentored with leaders one-on-one and in larger group settings. I have taught leadership and coached in venues such as: think tanks for ministry leaders, monthly leadership luncheons for business leaders, marriage and leadership retreats, motivational speaking, staff training, and personal mentoring to both adults and students.
I have facilitated leadership training in various states across the US, as well as Africa, Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Viet Nam, and Cambodia.
My Biography
I have been married to my wife Paula, since 1985. We have two grown children: a son 25, and a daughter 21, both pursuing Master’s Degrees.
I am an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. I love golf, working out, reading, hanging out at the Coffee Shop, Bar-B-Que, and banana pudding! Paula and I enjoy traveling, especially to Jamaica.
I graduated with a Bachelor in Theology from Luther Rice Seminary, a Masters in Ministry from Bethany Divinity Seminary, and a Ph.D in Communications from Louisiana Baptist University. I have been the Senior Pastor at North Point Baptist Church since 1998, as well as the Founder of North Point Christian Academy in Carrollton, GA.
I am also a Chaplain for the Carrollton City Police Department and enjoy riding along and spending time with the officers.
